What are everyone's thoughts on a new league starting? It happened several years ago with the Metro League. That league had a couple successful years and then folded. We rarely hear anything positive being said about the GWJFL from parents, coaches, or directors. Let's throw some questions out to be answered...... 1. Would you justify having higher player fees in a new league? Higher fees might be needed to pay field rentals and officials. The GWJFL doesn't have field rental fees and the city subsidizes the league. 2. Would a new league be more attractive for players if the games were played on synthetic turf fields? 3. What are your thoughts on having games on both Saturdays and Sundays? 4. Would a league that allowed any team to enter instead of having to be part of an organization be helpful? Other successful leagues like Westurban baseball and MAYB basketball do that. 5. What other things would make a new league attractive???

1. Higher fees would be tough. It would depend on how much. 2. What turf fields would be available? 3. That would be ok for some. What about more weeknight games? 4. I would be ok with that. Organizations aren't what they used to be. Some teams play for an organization in name only. Everything is watered down now. 5. Scoreboards! Real high school officials for the older grades. Good facilities. Promotion of our league.
